| Fight against bird flu : Government takes preventive measures |
After crisis meetings held at the Prime Minister’s Office and at MINEPIA, the first consignment of materials was handed over to the ten provincial delegates to fight against the deadly H5N1 strain of the bird flu virus that has been reported in neighbouring Nigeria. | Cocoa Ovens Project reaches |
A two-day seminar was organised to this effect at the Community Development School Kumba. The theme of the seminar was, “The realisation of community ovens for the development of the cocoa sector in the South West Province and Mungo Division: Outcome and perspectives. | What future for cocoa producers ? |
Despite the identified difficulties, there are great prospects for the development of the cocoa sector in Cameroon, especially in the South West Province that produces most of the country’s cocoa and where reports say many farmers are currently expanding their farms and planting high yielding seedlings.
